The workshop shall comprise 10 lectures and 3 to 4 hands-on sessions specifically designed for Geotechnical researchers and practitioners. The topics include but are not limited to :

• Geometry (mesh and boundary conditions), material models and parameters, initial conditions, and loading/construction sequence
• Coupled-flow stress analysis, handling of geometric and material non-linearity, use of sliding contacts etc. (with reference to geotechnical FEM softwares)
• Case study: Analysis of Fort Canning Tunnel, Singapore using ABAQUS
• Modelling Spatial Variability, Random Finite Element Analysis
• Hands-on session using GeoFEA / Interaction with participants on their specific problems
